BEFORE YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

Please bring it with you on your first appointment.

It is here that I can evaluate which treatments are ideally suited. While Acupuncture can result in the successful treatment of many conditions, the number of sessions required can vary, by condition and by patient. I like to discuss a course of action with each patient to ensure we meet their expectations.

Open communication from the outset allows both me as the practitioner and you as the patient to better gauge success and manage expectations.

Privacy Policy

I take your privacy concerns seriously. Any non-public personal information that you may provide in our clinic is confidential and strictly for the purpose of diagnoses, doctor contacting. We will not disclose any personal information without your advance permission except when we believe the law requires us to do so.

During an acupuncture treatment

Before each treatment, we will evaluate your condition by asking you questions about how you feel and your health history. We will also check your pulse and examine your tongue to judge your health condition (therefore, please try to avoid eating or drinking anything that would color your tongue).

When the pre-treatment examination is completed, you will then be directed to the acupuncture table. We only use sterilized, disposable Acupuncture needles, they are gently inserted and remain in place for about half an hour while you rest in a calming environment. Most patients feel very relaxed and some even fall asleep during the treatment. Herbal supplements may be recommended to support your treatment.

The feel of acupuncture needles

Acupuncture needles are ultra-thin (about as fine as a strand or two of hair) and, while reactions can vary, usually create a slight sensation. In many cases, patients are surprised at how pain-free the treatment is. With some acupuncture points the sensation is more noticeable and often necessary in order to achieve the therapeutic goal.

Overall, most people find it to be a comfortable procedure and most of my patients report feeling extremely relaxed and calm after their acupuncture treatments.

Course of Treatment

Each patient and condition is unique. The number and frequency of treatments will vary from patient to patient. For cosmetic and acupuncture treatment, a recommended course of treatment is 10 sessions; For condition like insomnia, we recommend 15 sessions. The best frequency is once or twice a week followed by a once a month maintenance treatment.

New conditions for pain management usually can see results in just one or two treatments. Conditions that have persisted may take longer time for the body to respond. The recommended frequency is also once or twice a week.

Cancellation policy

Please understand that your time has been reserved specifically for you when you make an appointment. If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance so that another patient may be accommodated at that time.

New patients making an appointment for a free consultation may need to make a separate appointment for the first treatment, after both patient and practitioner decide to work together.
